This year is set to be the year of the beauty advent, I think. There are some absolute stunners ahead (Paul & Joe with a first ever for the brand) with the Clarins Advent Calendar 2016 leading the way. At £95, it’s not going to be a budget option, but oh my! It’s pretty.
I thought we’d be over beauty advents, but actually the category is stronger than ever because in the face of competition, brands that product advents are having to up their game. You can get beauty advent calenders across the board, budget wise (I think Superdrug had one last year for around £10) so it’s a question of re-invention. It’s interesting to note that the Clarins Advent Calendar 2016 also contains table decorations as well as beauty, so it looks like this year’s re-invention is in mixed content. You’ll find favourites such as Beauty Flash Balm, Hand Cream and Skin Boosters.
It launches next month – and don’t forget, you have to be an early bird on these.

Paul and Joe advent calendar!?! OMGEEEEE!!! When is this happening and how much is it going to cost?
I really wish that brands wouldn’t include things like table decorations in beauty advent calendars like these. It just feels like filler and it’s not what most people buy them for. I would be disappointed to open up a calendar looking for a beauty treat, to be greeted by some old branded fluff. I’ve seen other brands do this and it really hasn’t gone down well. Though since these tend to be a guaranteed immediate sell out, maybe the brands don’t care.
Definitely not budget but youre right really pretty and the fact youre getting good sized products is always a plus!
