Essence x Hello Kitty

[purchase] I’ve had to put the brakes on buying Hello Kitty stuff – I’ve been to Hello Kitty World (Sanrio Puroland) in Japan and my house could so easily start to look like an extra wing because I find it so inexplicably irresistible. However, I couldn’t resist a couple of items from the Essence collaboration even though I did get a bit of plastic guilt.

I bought the little mirror because they’re always useful and somehow, I never seem to have one to hand. It won’t go down in history as a quality item but it’s fun – filled with neon and iridescent glitter stars in the outside casing that moves when you pick it up and put it down. It’s a double sided mirror with a magnifier on one side and a normal mirror on the other.

I also bought two of the Glowing Lip Glosses – one yellow and one pink. There is no difference that I can tell in the finish so it’s just a question of what looks prettier to you in the tube. The pink one is called Today Just Got Cuter (insert eye roll emoji) and the yellow is Sweeter Days Ahead. I can’t really tell if the fragrance is different either – it’s a generic – not unpleasant – sweetness.

The gloss is nicely shiny and leaves a wash of iridescence which is always lovely in the sunshine – lips look more radiant rather than just sparkly. Ironically, the postage (£3.99) is more expensive than the product (£2.80) HERE and having just checked, the mirror has sold out. There are some cute blotting papers, a powder blush (mine was smashed en route) and some pink make up sponges. Swatch below.
