[unpaid/purchase/affiliate} I am very pleased with my blouse from – yes, you guessed it, H&M. I wanted to post it last week but it hadn’t made it to the online store. I picked mine up in my local store. I don’t often get myself into a pair of shorts but I’ve got a black cheesecloth (ish) pair, a white linen pair and a denim pair but I’m always a bit clueless about what top to wear with them. I don’t like to tuck anything in to them but neither do I like a baggy t-shirt because I don’t somehow look fashionably balanced, I just look the wrong side of blocky.
The cut of this is loose but there’s enough structure that it doesn’t look floppy – just nice and crisp and cool. Because it doesn’t come in at the waist and sits just nicely at the hip I think it makes a good balance for the shorts.
I like the ruffle on the sleeves because it’s not too ‘ruffly’ and again does that body balance thing. I’ll wear it with other things (here, in jeans) but it feels completely right with my black shorts and looks holiday-ish. If the rain would just go, I might have a chance to put them together but so far, my legs have only been in pyjama shorts! It’s £19.99 and available in every size HERE.
There’s this option as well – it’s inexplicably in the sale for £8 HERE but obviously not so many sizes left.

It’s lovely. All sorts of good stuff as you point out, AND it looks great on you. It’s a very useful top I think.
I think so – it feels the right side of holiday-ish but also just as easy with jeans and a cardi at home.
What a lovely top! Light and floaty, but this shoulder ornament gives all the necessary structure and the length is perfect indeed. Blue variant is beautiful too! For that price you can snatch both – and nearly no one could say they are twins, color changes everything 🙂
You’re right! Two is a good idea 🙂
